Olympia Police on Friday put out an alert that they were trying to locate a 10-day old infant who was thought to be with her parents and considered to be at risk of harm.
Less than 2 hours later, police said the infant had been found. The baby and parents were at home, and the baby was unharmed.
The parents are now in jail, police said.
State Child Protective Services had notified police of an order issued by Thurston County Superior Court to remove the child from her parents’ care.
The child’s mother and father, Karen Lewis and Jack Short, were reported to have no fixed address and failed to attend a doctor’s visit that was scheduled for the infant earlier this afternoon.
