OLYMPIA, Wash. – Police are calling the death of a newborn boy found in a home "very suspicious" after a woman who was recently pregnant showed up at the hospital.
A 28-year-old woman was brought to Providence St. Peter Hospital around noon for abdominal bleeding and pain, Olympia Police said. Hospital staff said their examination revealed she had recently given birth. Police said the woman did not initially admit she had been pregnant.
Based on the exam and statements she made, the hospital called police.
Police went to a home on Bush Avenue on Olympia’s west side where they found the dead boy.
There were no reports of arrests Monday evening.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
