OLYMPIA -- The sounds of trees cracking under the weight of too much snow and ice were heard all over Thurston County Thursday.

Icy trees knocked out power, but it crushed the Aguilar's home just minutes after the family had been eating breakfast. They heard the tree in their yard creak, and decided to get out of the house.

Branches acted as spears, poking hold through bathrooms and living rooms.

In Olympia, a large fir tree splintered into three pieces, crushing 8 cars in a parking lot.

A carport in West Olympia collapsed early this morning, landing on 4 cars.

"i don't know what it looks like under the meta," said one woman who's car was crushed.
