OLYMPIA, Wash. – A naked man was tased Tuesday after allegedly assaulting a Thurston County Sheriff’s deputy.
It happened around 11 p.m. in the 2600 block of Wilderness Drive SE in Olympia.
Sheriff’s office spokesman Lt. Greg Elwin said it started as a disturbance between several intoxicated men. One of them was threatening others and refusing to leave, then tore off his clothing.
When deputies arrived, the 28-year-old suspect allegedly charged a deputy’s patrol car and began hitting it with his head and fists.
When the deputy got out, the naked man allegedly charged him and the two got into a struggle. The suspect was tased multiple times and had to be overpowered by several deputies.
One deputy suffered minor injuries.
The suspect faces charges of third degree assault and assault on a law enforcement officer.
