OLYMPIA, Wash. -- An Olympia mom wants to get 20,000 UNICEF boxes into children's hands by Halloween.
Ellen Rice ordered about a dozen Trick or Treat boxes for an upcoming event at her child's school. But she ended up getting 20,000 delivered to her home by mistake.
Rice doesn't want to send them back to the organization. Instead, she hopes local community groups will help her distribute the boxes.
Rice says she and her "agency of moms" will gladly deliver bundles or boxes to interested groups within Thurston County. They want to meet people at easy to find public locations between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday and between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday.
Groups or parties who would like help distribute the boxes can contact Ellen Rice by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 360-866-2468.
All the money raised with go to UNICEF, which helps needy children in more than 190 countries.
