A man died early Tuesday morning after being stabbed at a bar in downtown Olympia, the city's police department said.
The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. at McCoys Tavern, located in the 400 block of 4th Ave. E. Police responded to an emergency call and found two stabbing victims at the bar and learned that a third person had fled the scene.
"When officers made contact with the suspect," Olmpia Police said, "he was holding a knife and he failed to comply with the officers' commands. Officers used a taser to take control of the armed suspect, a 34 year old Olympia resident."
One of the stabbing victims later died from his injuries; the other was transported to St. Peter Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is in police custody.
