A two-alarm apartment fire in Kent damaged four to eight units in the building. No one was injured in the fire.
12 people were displaced and are receiving help from the Red Cross. Some are staying with neighbors and the apartment manager is also offering up vacant units for people whose units were damaged.
One family, whose unit was completely destroyed, had only recently moved to the area.
"We lost everything. I smelled the smoke ran outside with my phone and called 911. We are refugees and moved here 7 months ago from Burma," said Arkar Plakar, a fire victim.
The Kent Fire Department said it started around 2:30 a.m. at the Summerwalk Apartments at 22440 Benson Road Southeast.
The fire spread from the apartment building to a neighbor's shed. It is no longer burning.
