Fire investigators are looking into a fire at the Cave Man Kitchen in the 800 block of West Valley Highway in Kent.
The fire started at the longtime family restaurant early Tuesday morning. The initial report of the fire came in around 4:30 a.m. Fire crews from Kent RFA, Renton and King County Medic One responded. When the first crews arrived, they found flames through the roof of the restaurant. The fire was contained to the rear of the restaurant. They extinguished the fire within an hour.
There were no employees inside the Cave Man Kitchen when the fire started. Fire investigators have not yet determined what caused the fire or a damage estimate.
This is the second fire at the Cave Man Kitchen in recent years. A fire broke out at the restaurant 15 years ago.
The restaurant has been part of the Kent community since 1971. Three generations of family owners and operators have worked the restaurant.
