KENT, Wash. - Firefighters battled a fire at a recycling facility in Kent on Saturday afternoon.
The fire at Pacific Urethane Recycling at 755 Central Avenue North was originally called in as a brush fire at about 4 p.m.
Crews arrived and found a fully involved commercial structure fire. They had issues getting to the building, so they began fighting the fire with streams from above.
The company recycles carpet and carpet padding.
Nobody was inside the building and there was no threat to other structures.
The fire was stubborn because it was deep in piles of carpeting and carpet padding and because access to the fire was very limited, fire officials said.
The cause is not known.
