King County Metro and Sound Transit on Friday announced reduced service during the last two weeks of December, noting the traditional decline in service demand as riders take time off for the holidays.
During the full week between Christmas and New Year's, a reduced service plan will be in effect. Additionally, routes serving the University of Washington will begin limited service on December 19, when most students will have departed for the holiday break.
According to Metro, Sunday schedules will be used on Monday, Dec. 26, and Monday, Jan. 2. The reduced weekday schedule will run from Dec. 27 to 30, and again on Jan. 16 -- the Monday that the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday is observed.
Check out the websites for Metro and Sound Transit for a full list of holiday schedules.
Both agencies also remind riders that they expect to see higher demand starting Dec. 29 when tolling begins on the 520 floating bridge.
