FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Detectives trying to solve the murder of a Federal Way High School student 20 years ago have identified a suspect as a descendant of the Mayflower pilgrims.
Sarah Yarborough was last seen alive the morning of December 14, 1991. She was leaving her home, headed to school to take part in a Dance Team competition.
Yarborough was found dead on school grounds later that morning. Witnesses reported seeing a man peering in windows and trying to open doors at the school. They helped detectives create two composite sketches which were distributed over the years.
A forensic genealogist using a DNA profile has now identified the suspect as a member of the extended family of Robert Fuller. Fuller arrived in Salem, Massachusetts in the 1630’s. He was related to two Fullers who arrived on the Mayflower.
Therefore, detectives say the suspect may have the last name Fuller.
At the time of the crime, the suspect was described as white, in his 20s , 5-feet 10-inches tall with shoulder length dirty blond or light brown hair, a medium build and wearing a trench coat and dark pants.
