43 arrested in Washington immigration raids

SEATTLE – Immigrations enforcement officers have arrested 43 people in Washington state as part of a nationwide crackdown on convicted criminal aliens and immigration fugitives.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement say the six-day operation involved federal, state and local authorities working together.

ICE captured 1,063 aliens who had multiple criminal convictions. Some had felony convictions including murder, kidnapping, sexual crimes and terror threats.

An additional 698 were fugitives who had been ordered to leave the country but failed to do so and 559 more were immigrants who left the country and returned illegally.

One of those arrested was Carlington David Richards, a Jamaican national who was living in Federal Way. ICE said Richards is wanted for murder in Jamaica. His removal from the U.S. is pending.

ICE’s Seattle field office, which covers Washington, Oregon and Alaska, captured 68 fugitives total.

  • Kenmore: 1
  • Kennewick: 1

  • Lakewood: 1
  • Longview: 1
  • Marysville: 3
  • North Bend: 1
  • Pasco: 8
  • Seattle: 4
  • Sedro Woolley: 1
  • Stanwood: 1
  • Tacoma: 2
  • Toppenish: 1
  • Walla Walla: 1
  • Wenatchee: 3
  • Yakima: 5
