The only place a driver caught going 104 miles per hour Friday on Interstate 5 went to was straight to jail.
A Washington State Patrol trooper in an unmarked car clocked the car as it came up behind him and passed just outside Marysville -- where the speed limit is 60 miles per hour, not 104. He tweeted this:
Not a way to start you friday.Driver arrested in Marysville after passing trooper at 104MPH! yfrog.com/h4ukiqrvj— Trooper Keith Leary (@wspd7pio) June 8, 2012
The driver of the Chevy Camaro is a 35-year-old man from Camano Island. He said he was on his way to work in Everett but was being closely followed by a car behind him. He claimed he sped up to get some distance.
The trooper arrested the man for reckless driving and he was booked into the Snohomish County Jail.
