Meagan Mollet was sentenced to one year in prison for rendering criminal assistance to the man who shot and killed Washington State Patrol Trooper Tony Radulescu in February.
Mollet, 19, was in the truck with Joshua Blake when Trooper Radulescu stopped them on Highway 16 the morning of February 23. Blake shot Radulescu, then fled the scene in a truck with Mollet.
Blake shot and killed himself later that afternoon as the Kitsap County SWAT team closed in on him.
Hours after his shooting, police questioned Mollet if she knew Blake. Detectives said "she replied snidely that she 'knew lotsa Joshes.’”
She later admitted to investigators what happened, but jurors felt her conduct helped Blake escape and found her guilty of making false statements to police and rendering criminal assistance to Blake.
