A 57-year-old bonsai tree valued at $20,000 has been stolen from Elandan Gardens in Bremerton.

The Hinoki Cypress Dwarf was taken from its pot last weekend. The approximately 4-feet tall bonsai tree was donated to the nursery in 1991.

No other bonsai trees were stolen.

In addition to selling an array of plants and trees, the nursery has a large outdoor bonsai museum. The collection includes trees that are more than 1,000 years old.
