Firefighters in Sequim are investigating the cause of a fire that happened in a church steeple.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters responded to a report of a fire in a chimney, when they arrived on scene they discovered the fire was at the First baptist Church of Sequim.
Fire crews say the fire was contained to the building's steeple. After the fire was knocked down, firefighters decided to remove the top portion of the steeple as a precaution.
There were no injuries and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
