A Bremerton church has been hit by an arsonist for the second time.
Officials with Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue say the fire was reported on Sunday at about 9:30 a.m. by someone who said the fire was already out. Firefighters found fire and smoke damage to the exterior of the east side of the building.
Fire officials say it appeared the fire was started in the bark at the base of the building, and traveled up the siding.
There was fire damage to the outside and some minor smoke damage inside.
The County Fire Marshal determined the fire to be arson and the investigation is ongoing.
Another arson occurred at the church on Oct. 17, 2011. At that time the fire had been set outside near the rear of the church and resulted in minor fire and smoke damage.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Fire Marshal's Office at 360-337-4442.
