BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Students at a Western Washington University residence hall are sending a message a hope, days after a 19-year-old student took his own life by jumping from Nash Residence Hall.
Students at Mathes Residence Hall, which face Nash, posted a message in the 7th floor windows: "Never forget you are loved. We (heart) you."
Timothy Crossan died Tuesday. The door to the roof of Nash Hall was locked, so university police believe Crossan climbed to the roof from a seventh-story sundeck.
WWU said counseling is being provided at Nash Hall and is available to students by calling the Counseling Center at 650-3164.
A candlelight procession was planned for Wednesday evening, the Bellingham Herald reported. Doors at the Viking Union Multipurpose room will open at 7 p.m., with formal remarks starting at 7:30 p.m. The candlelight procession to Red Square will follow.
