BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A twelve mile stretch of northbound Interstate 5 from Burlington to Bellingham will be down to one lane between 7 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. Friday for construction. Drivers are being warned it could take an hour or more to get through it.
The lane shutdown begins at Chuckanut Drive, exit 230, and ends at Nulle Road, exit 242.
The longest delays are expected during the afternoon commute, between 2 and 6 p.m. each day, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
Construction crews will rip out two concrete bridge approaches, repair bridge decks, replace concrete road panels, tie panels together with dowel bars, and pave.
