BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A homemade airplane lost its engine after takeoff Saturday afternoon and crashed near Bellingham Airport.
Nobody was seriously hurt.
The pilot of the RV-23 kit plane was able to land in the mud flats southwest of the airport. The plane took heavy damage.
The crash will be investigated.
