BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Four family members were seriously injured when fire broke out inside their home early Sunday.
Fire officials say the fire broke out at about 4:22 a.m. in the residence at 1208 24th Street.
Firefighters arrived within minutes and rescued three family members through a window. The four was able to escape.
All four family members are reported to have been severely injured with both burns and smoke inhalation and were transported to St Joseph Hospital and later transferred to the Harborview Medical Center Burn Center in Seattle.
"Our hearts go out to this family during this time of crisis," said Fire Chief Bill Boyd.
The cause of fire is being investigated and no property damage estimate is yet available.
