Hundreds of dancers from around the globe are converging on Puget Sound this weekend for Seattle’s Easter Swing, one of the biggest West Coast Swing dance conventions in the world.
It’s being held through Sunday at the Bellevue Hyatt. There will be social dancing, workshops and competitions with thousands of dollars in prize money and blown glass Easter Egg trophies.
There are beginner workshops that will be offered for free, even if you aren’t attending the convention.
Seattle’s Easter Swing is sponsored by the Seattle Swing Dance Club. The club offers dances every first and third Sunday, free beginner lessons and a “Step by Step” workshop that teaches the foundational patterns to help newcomers become West Coast Swing dancers.
