Bellevue Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in an attempted kidnapping that occurred Saturday.

At approximately 2:00 p.m. an unknown male drove up to an 18-year-old female in the southeast corner of Crossroads mall located in the 15600 block of NE 8th Street and told her to get in his car, police said. When she backed away, he got out of his car and attempted to grab and lift her before noticing onlookers. The male jumped into his car and fled the area.

The victim described the attacker as a Hispanic male in his late 30s to early 40s, standing roughly 5’8" with a medium build, with a short buzz-cut and scruffy facial hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

The suspect drove what was described as a dark green “older model” Geo 4 door hatchback with a Washington license plate. The vehicle also had a large dent on the left side of the rear bumper.
