A Kirkland man was shot outside his home late Sunday, apparently fighting against burglary suspects who tried to break in, according to Kirkland Police.
Detectives said two males tried to force their way into the home on the 12000 block of 102nd Court Northeast around 10:00 p.m.
The 26-year-old victim and his girlfriend were inside at the time.
Police said the suspects pistol whipped the victim and the scuffle moved outside.
The woman told police she heard a gunshot and found her boyfriend shot in the arm and torso.
He was rushed to Harborview Medical Center, last listed in stable condition.
The suspects are believed to have fled on foot. Kirkland Police said they located a suspect vehicle, but no arrests have been made.
Detectives do not yet know whether the suspects and victim knew each other.
