BELLEVUE, Wash. -- Bellevue police have confirmed a suspicious package outside the Washington Federal Bank at Bellevue Square is not a bomb.
Police said around 4 p.m. a caller reported seeing a man in a green Toyota Camry pull up and throw something that looked like a pipe bomb out of the car.
Police immediately shut down the area and evacuated the bank. The bomb squad deployed their robot to check out the device. Bomb technicians examined photos of device taken by the robot and determined it was not an explosive.
NE 8th and 100th Avenue NE, which were closed during the investigation, have reopened.
