Check your Ticketmaster account for free vouchers

If you're lucky enough to have bought tickets to an event through Ticketmaster from 1999 to 2013 (and you've been using the same email and account for many of those purchases), you probably have a bunch of free stuff waiting for you on your Ticketmaster account.

Because of a class action lawsuit that found that Ticketmaster overcharged customers for phony services, 50 million customers are eligible for a bunch of "free stuff."

(It's not really free because customers receiving the awards have already overpaid for other things, but hey, we'll take it.)

All you need to do to see if you've received anything is go to, click on your account, and then click on the "active vouchers" link.

From there, you should see things like small rebates on certain types of transactions, but also one or more for free general admission to an eligible event.

The news has spread to the point that the Ticketmaster website is experiencing technical difficulties right now in the vouchers section. When I logged in this morning, the vouchers were there.

The "eligible events" part of the site is also down, but reports suggest that it hasn't been populated with anything yet.
