SEATTLE – Starbucks is about to open a floating coffee shop.

Starbucks has announced it will open a location on a new Royal Caribbean cruise ship called Allure of the Seas. The new cruise ship is set to debut in Florida on December 5th .

"We are always looking for unique ways and places to connect with our customers and deliver the Starbucks Experience," said Chris Carr, senior vice president and general manager of Starbucks Licensed Stores in a press release. "Starbucks presence aboard Allure of the Seas is another place where our customers want and expect us to be."

The Starbucks will be located in a the ship's Royal Promenade, a mall-like area in the center of the ship which features stores, bars and restaurants.

The store will be staffed with Starbucks-trained baristas and offer a full line of Starbucks drinks and select food items.

"Quite frankly, there is a huge investment on our part to train the baristas at sea with the same degree that we train our baristas on land," Carr told USA Today.

Carr won’t say if the company is planning to put Starbucks shops on other cruise ships.

Good for Starbucks and good for Finland for building this ship. At least it was built in a non-third world country.. Nice to see
