SEATTLE — A local tailor says the scent of Molly Moon’s ice cream made her sick.
Misook Chung is seeking roughly $40,000 in damages after she says the fumes from their Queen Anne location spread into her spot next door.
“The smell is like a garbage smell, rotten garbage, rotten egg, really bad bathroom, uh, poo-poo,” said Chung, who has been in her Superb Custom Tailors for seven years.
Chung alleges that malfunctioning plumbing caused melted ice cream to drip, fester and ferment, leading to the smell. The problem started in 2012 and ended in 2013. The plumbing has since been fixed.
Molly Moon Neitzel declined comment through a spokesperson. That spokesperson said she’d be happy to forward a press release on the store’s new summer flavors instead.
Ron Amundson, who owns the building and is Chung’s landlord, said the issue was blown out of proportion and that Chung is “troubled.”
