SEATTLE - Twenty thousand Microsoft employees are gathering at Safeco field today as top executives rally the troops. The other half of the company's 40,000 employees will watch the annual meeting via web-cast.
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is known to bring in a little star power, and this year is no exception. Comedian Amy Sedaris will host the festivities.
Mr. Ballmer will showcase the Windows Phone 7 and the motion-sensitive Kinect for X-Box. Both are expected to be huge money makers this holiday season for Microsoft. The company is expecting to sell some 3 million Kinects over the holiday.
Windows Phone 7 will debut in Europe and here in the states in the fall.
The meeting is scheduled from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Traffic around Safeco is expected to be backed up in the area.
The meeting is closed to reporters and to the public.
