Ski Season is officially underway in the northwest.
Crystal Mountain started operating its ski lifts Wednesday morning for the 2012-2013 ski season.
Resort management says many of the 2,000 skiers who were on hand for opening day started lining up as early as 6:15 a.m. Wednesday.
Due to long lines, management had to open up the six-passenger "Chinnok Express" which was not scheduled to open to get skiers and boarders to the slopes.
A spokesperson for the resort says two more lifts will open on Thursday and Friday to help meet the already high demand.
