EVERETT, Wash. - A Boeing 787 Dreamliner made its first flight with a GEnx engine from General Electric on Wednesday. The 787 took off from Paine Field in Everett.

GE says the engine will reduce noise levels by 30 percent. The engine is also the first to have a front fan case and fan blades made of carbon fiber composites.

Boeing says 787 customers will be able to choose between the GEnx and the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines.

GE believes the first 787 with the GEnx will be delivered early next year.

I thought standard procedure on flying a new plane with new engines was to leave the landing gear down. In this video the landing gear is up, down, up, down, up?????

They told us, put the new GEnx engine on the 787 and you'll get $100 a week for 8 weeks on your Starbucks cards... Lies! All Lies! I think we should Strike!
