Seattle's plans to locate a third major sports venue near the rail and dockyards serving the city's port has drawn criticsm from the freight and manufacturing busineses that must move cargo through an already congested area.

On the other side of the country, however, port interests have figured out how to live with a stadium district that contains two stadiums and an arena -- exactly what's proposed for Seattle.

Could Philadelphia's careful planning and management of its stadium district provide a model for Seattle?
