SEATTLE – Two years ago, the SuperSonics left Seattle after saying KeyArena wasn't good enough. But it's apparently good enough for other live events.
Today, KeyArena is among the top 100 arenas in the world for ticket sales according to Pollstar, which follows the live entertainment touring industry.
Pollstar says for the first half of 2010, KeyArena ranked 53rd in the world based on the total number of tickets sold for events. That's up from No. 70 last year. The rankings include arenas of all sizes around the world.
KeyArena events for the first half of the year included concerts by Elton John and Billy Joel, Bon Jovi, Jon Mayer, Michael Buble, Carol King, James Taylor, Eagles and Tim McGraw. It also included WWE and the Harlem Globetrotters.
The rankings do not include sporting events such as the Seattle Storm and Seattle University Men's Basketball.
