NTSB releases photo of battery the caught fire on 787

The National Transportation Safety Board on Monday showed off the battery at the center of an investigation into a fire aboard a Japan Airlines 787 Dreamliner.

A photo released by the agency shows the charred lithium-ion battery that caught fire and exploded while the plane was parked at Logan Airport in Boston. The fire broke out 15 minutes after the last passengers left the plane.

The NTSB investigation into the cause of the fire continues.
