Snohomish County officials say Horizon Air is again interested in flying commercial planes out of Paine Field in Everett.
The airline recently backed out after long delays and a federal environmental review process, but a A Horizon spokesperson said last week that airline would be compelled to offer service if a competitor began operating out of the airport.
The FAA gave its final stamp of approval last week for both Horizon and Allegiant to fly passengers out of the airport.
The county said Monday it has begun an environmental review process that could take six months.
It’s still not clear how a two-gate terminal would be funded.
