SEATTLE -- The FAA and the Department of Transportation will discuss Friday where the Boeing 787 stands in light of last Monday's fire in Boston.
The FAA plans a special review of the Dreamliner's power system and the fire, which was traced back to a lithium ion battery.
Boeing had to get a special exemption from the FAA to use lithium ion batteries on the plane. Large 32 volt batteries are one of the ways the 787 engines and auxilary power units are started.
