Seattle Police found a woman with life threatening injuries while responding to shots fired in the Pioneer Square area Monday morning. Officers located the woman after 1 a.m. and medics transported her to Harborview Medical Center.
At approximately 1:10 a.m., before the woman was found, a patrolling officer near 2nd Avenue and Cherry Street heard gunshots and headed in that direction.
A different woman driving a beige sedan away from the area struck a fully-marking police car, lost control of her vehicle and hit a parked car. Neither the woman nor the officer were injured in the collision. She has been detained for questioning.
Just before 1:30 a.m., a man with a gunshot wound in his foot was dropped off at the Harborview emergency room. The vehicle who left him drove away, but was stopped on Martin Luther King Jr. Way South and the occupants were detained for questioning.
The occupants of two additional vehicles were detained for questioning for possible connections to the incident. Anti-Crime Team officers stopped a vehicle at 2nd Avenue South and South King Street and police stopped another vehicle at 18th Avenue and East Howell Street around 1:50 p.m.
Homicide and CSI detectives are actively investigating the incidents at 2nd Avenue Extension South and South Main Street.
