Kent police say a woman was shot in the head at her residence Sunday night and the gunman is still on the loose.
It happened just after 9 p.m. in the 24500 block of 104th Avenue SE after someone reported the shooting.
Responding officers found the woman had a serious gunshot wound to the head. She was responsive and breathing. She was transported to the hospital where her condition as of Monday morning was unknown.
Police say gunshots were fired into the residence in which several people live, including children. Nobody else was hurt.
“This incident could have easily been far more devastating,” said Detective Melanie Frazier in a statement.
There is no motive for the shooting and police say they don’t have any suspect information or description to release, yet.
Anyone with information that can help police is asked to call 911 or the Kent Police Department at 253-856-5808.
