SEATTLE - Seattle Police and King County Sheriff’s Deputies continue to search for a felon they say crashed a car and then ran away.

The manhunt shut down a neighborhood near the County line for most of the evening, as police searched from the sky and on the ground for the 24-year-old man.

Police on the scene say Emanuel Kozma had just been released from the King County Jail earlier Wednesday, and was being tailed by detectives who suspected his connection to another crime.  Police say he was in a car with another woman near 17th and Trenton, and when they attempted to pull him over, the car sped away and flipped.

A 22-year-old woman who was in the car was not seriously injured, and arrested after being checked out a nearby hospital.  Police says they recovered a gun nearby.

Police says Kozma, likely armed, took off from the scene.  He was wearing a blue shirt with cutoff sleeves and dark pants.

An aerial and ground search was unsuccessful.  Police suggested Kozma had called up associates to give him a ride, and may have escaped under the cover of darkness.
