SEATTLE – The search for a would-be burglar on Seattle’s waterfront,   left passengers on the Victoria Clipper III stranded, Sunday evening.

A man called 911 to report that a man climbed up the side of his building to get to his third story condo in the 2700 block of Elliot Ave.  When the owner yelled at the man to get off, the man climbed down the metal trellis, and then ran away toward Pier 69.

Witnesses saw the man run jump over a fence to enter Pier 69. He reportedly yelled that he had a gun.

Police surrounded the buildings on the pier and requested Harbor Patrol units to search the water and surrounding areas, including underneath the pier.

During the search, the Victoria Clipper III was asked to stay away from the dock.

Police had not located the man by 10:00 p.m. Sunday.  He is described as a white man, mid to late twenties, wearing a white t-shirt, dark jeans, with a dark sweatshirt tied around his waist.
