SEATTLE - A man hurt in a two-car crash in south Seattle early Saturday died at the hospital.

The crash happened along the 5500 block of Rainier Avenue South around 3:30 a.m.

Police say just prior to the collision, two cars were travelling at high speed southbound on Rainier Ave. S. One driver later told officers he was following the other (suspect) vehicle after being the victim of a hit-and-run. The "suspect" vehicle, a silver Lexus, crossed the centerline of Rainier Avenue South and struck a Buick traveling northbound.

The Seattle Fire Department responded and extricated the two occupants from the Lexus and the driver of the Buick. All were taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Police say the man who died was a passenger in the Lexus.

sugababi11, my condolences for your loss. Your point brings up why King5 should have a more complete story posted before letting user leave comments.

If it was a hit and run the following car should have some fresh damage. If the car following was chasing the first car why was the first car going so fast? Did they think the following driver has a gun?

This accident should have never taken place. It wasn't like what the driver behind the Lexus said. This accident was not over a hit and run it was about a girl. The guy that reported that he was behind them because of a hit and run was lying. He was chasing the Lexus until it went out of control. I think one calls that murder. Why wasn't he arrested, he was drunk.

WRONG, lmurphy09..this IS the place to talk about why, who and what.. if you need to grieve online, keep it to your social networking websites... THIS is the place to discuss the story. ..that said.. I'm guessing booze or substance was a factor.. that and stupidity

lmurphy09 - I hear what you're saying but anybody that refers to God as "god" really needs prayer... Probably more than the people in the hospital right now. In the bible, God is the Almighty Creator and "god" is always used when making reference to an idol or false god. (Just so you know...)

That is messed up! The driver of the Lexus is not looking very good right now if all of this is true. He is truly in a world of hurt...
