Two pedestrians hurt in accident on Aurora Ave.

SEATTLE – One person was critically injured after a car involved in a crash on Aurora Avenue North ran into two pedestrians.

Police say at about 7:30 a.m. Sunday, a vehicle was traveling northbound in the  11500 Block of Aurora Avenue North and was slowing to turn right into a business parking lot when it was struck from behind by another vehicle also travelling northbound.

The collision caused the first vehicle to continue northbound, where it struck the two pedestrians who were standing in the parking lot.  The second vehicle also continued northbound, where it struck a tree and came to rest facing eastbound. 

A total of five people were injured.  One of the pedestrians has life-threatening injuries, the other four had minor injuries. 

All lanes of northbound Aurora Avenue North were closed for several hours while the investigation was conducted.
