The Northwest's most talented chefs and fascinating personalities regularly demo some amazing dishes in the New Day Northwest studios. Here are the 10 most-viewed food segments of 2011 from New Day Northwest on our website, featuring both sweet and savory dishes and some healthy ones as well.

1. Beecher's 'World's Best Mac & Cheese'

Seattle-based Beecher's Handmade Cheese made Oprah's final "Favorite Things" last December. In fact, they got so much attention, their website crashed for a few days! In honor of Oprah's last show, Kurt Dammeier, owner of Beecher's Handmade Cheese, shows how to make Oprah's favorite "World's Best Mac & Cheese."

2. Actress Linda Evans cooks from the heart

She's graced stage and screen for decades and is famed for starring in TV shows "Dynasty" and "Big Valley." Actress Linda Evans turns her attention to a new memoir, Recipes for Life, combining stories from her heart, career and recipes for the soul. Linda shows Margaret how to prepare one of her favorite dishes, a crab dip recipe given to her by "The Duke," legendary John Wayne.

3. Grilled flatbread pizza with seasonal toppings

Lynne Vea with PCC Nature Markets uses the barbecue grill in fresh way -- for cooking flatbread pizza. She adds a Northwest flair, using red pepper pesto, goat cheese, smoked salmon, homemade candied tomatoes, arugula and capers. She also does a Tuscan-style grilled pizza, using fontina cheese, roasted peppers, basil, proscuitto and pistachios.

4. America's Test Kitchen cooks the 'Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie'

Editors at Cook's Illustrated magazine selected the top 2,000 recipes from 20 years of publishing and compiled them all into a cookbook. Jack Bishop, editorial director of America's Test Kitchen, shares one of the book's no-fail recipes and shows Margaret step-by-step the secrets of making the perfect chocolate chip cookie.

5.  The 'Best Pizza in Washington State'

The editors of Food Network magazine tried to find the best pizza in every state in America. After six months, they published the results of their "50 States, 50 Pizzas" challenge in their September issue. The title of "Best Pizza in Washington state" was given to chef Aaron Baumhackl from Solstice Wood Fire Cafe out of Bingen. Baumhackl cooks two of the restaurant's signature pizzas.

Seattle chef, cookbook author and restauranteur Tom Douglas shares his favorite childhood holiday recipe, Grandma Douglas's Schnecken.

7.  John Howie cooks for the halibut

Between five restaurants in Seattle and Bellevue, chef John Howie has something for everyone. He demonstrates how to make his halibut with roasted corn mashed potatoes.

8.  Top Pot's Doughnut Bread Pudding

Mark Klebeck, co-founder of Seattle's Top Pot Doughnuts, talks about Hand-Forged Doughnuts: Secrets and Recipes for the Home Cook and shares a delicious recipe for bread pudding made with leftover doughnuts (if you had any).

9.  Heirloom Tomato Bisque

Lynne Vea with PCC Natural Markets celebrates summer using heirloom tomatoes to cook a gorgeous tomato bisque soup. After adding a few ingredients, she transforms the soup into an heirloom BLT bisque.
