1. I-5 bridge over Skagit River collapses, cars with people in water

May 23: The collapse happened around 7 p.m. on the north part of the four-lane Interstate 5 bridge near Mount Vernon, about 60 miles north of Seattle. It sent a section of the span and two vehicles into the Skagit River below, though all three occupants suffered only minor injuries.

2. Huge landslides damage, threaten homes on Whidbey Island

March 27: Thirty-five homes were either under evacuation orders or had been cut off from the rest of Whidbey Island by the 1,000-foot landslide.

3. TSA agent confiscates sock monkey's toy pistol

December 8: A woman flying from St. Louis to Seattle was stunned when a TSA agent confiscated a 2-inch long toy pistol that was an accessory for one of the sock monkey she sells.

4. Puyallup F1 tornado had 110 mph maximum winds

September 29: The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down near Puyallup, causing damage to buildings and tipping a train off its tracks.

5. FedEx truck crash blocks southbound I-5 in Seattle

May 29: A FedEx semi-truck crashed and caught fire on Interstate 5 in Seattle, making a normally tough morning commute much worse. It was compounded by multiple collisions on alternate routes.

6. Port Angeles man bulldozes neighbors' property

May 10: A Port Angeles man damaged four houses after he drove his bulldozer through them. At least one vehicle was also destroyed.

7. Super yacht 'Vibrant Curiosity' parked in Lake Union

June 24: The Vibrant Curiosity “can accommodate up to 18 guests, including the owner, in a master stateroom, one VIP suite with his & her bathroom, five double VIP suites and two double guest cabins,” according to yacht builder Oceanco.

8. Seattle PD trying to return stolen items to owners

July 10: Seattle police detectives released a gallery of 72 stolen items they wanted to return to their rightful owners.

January 14: A drug that's been in Asia for centuries is flying off the shelves in some local stores. Kratom is sold as "safe" and "legal,” but there is growing evidence of the drug’s dark side.

10. More women complain of videotaping at Puyallup jail

October 18: Most of the women were DUI suspects who say they were forced to strip naked in a holding cell to change into jail clothes. They didn’t know they were being recorded on a monitor that could be seen by mostly male jailers.
