Teen hurt in hunting accident on life support, mother says

A teenage hunter who was critically injured Friday in a hunting accident in Pierce County is paralyzed from the neck down and is on life support, his mother said Sunday.

Kevin Wayne Jr, 17, was pulling an elk up a hill with a rope when the rope snapped and hit him in the neck.

He was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center.

Captain Mike Smith from Greenwater Fire Department said the accident occured in the Bridge Camp area.

The King County Sheriff's Office said Guardian 2 was called in to help with the rescue.
