Champion Storm returns to Seattle; parade set for tonight

SEATTLE - Dozens of fans at Sea-Tac Airport gave the WNBA Champion Seattle Storm a rousing victory welcome home.

The Storm's plane arrived at 1:35 p.m. from Atlanta, where they completed a 3-game sweep of the Atlanta Dream to win their second WNBA crown Thursday night.

A championship rally and parade for the Storm will be held Friday evening in Seattle.

The parade begins at 7 p.m. at the Space Needle. it will head south on Broad Street, West on Denny Way and north on First Avenue to Key Arena's West Plaza. Click here to see the map.

Fans are encouraged to begin lining the streets starting from KeyArena's West Plaza and working their way backwards along First Avenue towards the start of the parade route.

The parade will be followed by a celebration inside KeyArena. It is free and open to the public. Enter through the west doors. Seating is first come, first served.

Storm championship t-shirts went on sale at KeyArena Friday morning.

"I love the Storm and they're champions of Seattle and Seattle hasn't had many champions in a while," said Ken Jordan, one of those buying Storm memorabilia.

The Storm says all its championship hats sold out Thursday night and the t-shirts were going fast Friday. Another shipment is expected next Tuesday.
