LAKE STEVENS, Wash. -- In Lake Stevens, most people may be snowed in, but they are relying on each other to get through the storm.
"Oh I've hit the wall," said Chris Thoma, who's been home with the children for four consecutive days."I'm ready for them to get back to school, and be able to get out and do normal life things."
With more than a foot of snow on the ground, there's a lot of concern for family members who are sick or running out of supplies. Chris's daughter Shelby hasn't been able to get to the hospital for an iron infusion, but still walks to a neighbor's house to check on a friend's mother.
"The only way everybody is going to make it through this is to take care of them, I know I'm sick but I'm in better shape than some other people," she said.
Another neighbor dug out Shelby's driveway while she was checking on the woman. It was the third driveway she dug out that day.
Many people are running out of medicine. Chris's 77-year-old mother, a chronic pain sufferer, and her husband can't leave their house.
"If you need something you have to rely on your neighbors," said Chris.
