Power back on in Port Orchard after morning outage

Power has been restored to 1,435 customers in Port Orchard. Puget Sound Energy said a squirrel may have knocked out a trench transformer around 7 a.m., according to Puget Sound Energy.

The power outage closed down the Kitsap County Courthouse, Administration and Public Works buildings.

PSE said two major transformers were affected by the outage. Phone service was also down.
