Some areas of Western Washington got some snow on Saturday morning and downtown Seattle was pummeled by hail in the afternoon.

Snow fell in Whatcom and Skagit counties and other areas at 500 feet in heavier showers.

Many people were not happy to hear the word "snow" when we're supposed to be seeing more sunshine.

"Hey ...old man winter....it's time for your nap!" Karl Reid Artist said via the KING Facebook page.

Kathryn Felix said "Go away! Its SPRING!"

A strong storm moved through the Seattle area at about 5 p.m., dumping hail up to an inch deep in places.

A winter weather advisory was in effect until 11 p.m. Saturday for the west slopes of the Cascades, including Stevens Pass and Snoqualmie Pass. Between six and 12 inches of snow is expected.

On Sunday, temperatures in Western Washington will warm slightly, but will still only be about 50 degrees.

Monday the slow warming trend will continue with highs mainly in the low to mid 50S.
