The City of Seattle is reminding everyone to "Drive With Care and Walk Aware" this holiday season.

Saturday was the fifth annual Center City Holiday Pedestrian Safety Campaign in downtown Seattle. Blitz from the Seattle Seahawks helped kick off the event.

Police want to remind drivers to focus on the road, as you're 23 times more likely to crash if texting while driving. But drivers aren't the only ones who need to be safe, pedestrians must follow the rules too.

"Make sure they look both ways when crossing the street, they obey the traffic signs, the do not walk signs and are just courteous and watch out for one another this holiday season." Sgt. Paul Gracey/Seattle Police

The biggest causes of collisions in the center city are drivers failing to yield for people in crosswalks, or attempting to make left turns as people are crossing.
